Dillons Hut
The New Dillons Hut (sleeps 10, stove, tank / creek water) lies in the middle reaches of the taipo valley, 10 minutes upstream from the historic Dillons Hut. It presumably aimed to replace this character-laden historic building - however, the storm of protest this provoked seems to have ensured that the old hut will also remain.
This is a characterless modern tramping hut - weathertight, rodentproof but lacking the feel of the old place (and also lacking the mice). Look at them both, they're only 10 minute apart, and make your choice ...
