Fosters Hut
Mount Richmond Forest Park
Fosters Hut (4 bunks, matresses, stove, tank water) is a typical 4-bed forestry hut. It sits in a clearing on the summit of the Richmond Ranges just east of Fosters Clearing, overlooking Blenheim and the lower Wairau Valley. The hut is accessible by a gently sloping walking / cycling track from both the north and south making it an easy option for families or those looking for something less strenuous. A reasonable ridgeline routes also lead east and west to Mt Sunday/Mt Riley and Mt Baldy/Mt Royal respectively, for those after somethintg more challenging.
