Fosters Hut
Mount Richmond Forest Park
Fosters Hut (4 bunks, matresses, stove, tank water) is a typical 4-bed forestry hut. It sits in a clearing on the summit of the Richmond Ranges just east of Fosters Clearing, overlooking Blenheim and the lower Wairau Valley. The hut is accessible by a gently sloping walking / cycling track from both the north and south making it an easy option for families or those looking for something less strenuous. Reasonable ridgeline routes also lead east and west to Mt Sunday/Mt Riley and Mt Baldy/Mt Royal respectively, for those after something more challenging.
