Longview Hut

Longview hut (12 beds, gas heater, gas cookers, tank water) provided a view of nothing but mist on the occasion I visited it, but in the sleet and mist of a late october storm, the provision of gas heating more than made up for the lack of a view.

The hut sits just to the east of the ridgeline, proitected from the worst of the nor-westerlies. It is on a boggy tussock flat, still some 200m above the treeline.
