This short loop offers a good introduction to the flora of the Waitakere Ranges. From the Arataki Visitor Centre, follow the signs through an underpass decorated with murals and into regenerating forest. The smooth track passes a shelter and junction. A plant identification loop leads off here. Upper and lower loops lead down the hillside for a variety of options. From the bottom junction, a steeper track leads up to a kauri knoll: a boardwalk leading into a ring of trees.
