This short walk offers a refreshing respite from the famous blacksand beaches of Piha.

Park at the surf club (toilets here) or by the bridge, and follow the wide track up Marawhara Stream. The track leads through handsome nikau palm forest to a grassy picnic clearing by the stream. There is a shaded water hole here for splashing around. The White Track continues onward if you are looking for something more energetic.
