Off SH2 near Matawai between Gisbourne & Opotiki onto Koranga valley road, left into Moanui rd about 20kms to car park. 2 to 4 hours walk.

Koronga Forks Hut: 8km, 2-4hrs, riverbed route. Pleasant low-water trip down a gorged but easy river

Makamoere Hut: 5km, 1.5-3hrs, riverbed route. Broad river flats and small stream. Generally easy going.

Tataweka Hut: 6km, 1.5-3hrs, riverbed route. Tight gorge to confluence, but broad gravel river flats up Tataweka.
