Carroll Hut
Arthur's Pass National Park
A small, tidy hut just above the treeline on the Kelly Range. Recently renovated with new cladding and new windows. Water is available from the nearby creek, and there is ample camping space.
The original hut was built in 1939 by the West Coast Alpine Club as a skiing hut. A small rope tow was mounted on the slope nearby. The Kelly Range is still visited by cross-country skiers, but the access track needs ice axe and crampons in winter.
