An early start made it easier to cross the slopes above Hester Pinney Ck. We were pleased to make it to the saddle without the sun in our eyes when on the snow slopes.

The head of the South AlbertBurn
With the exception of some hunters who access the valley from the Lake Wanaka end, this valley seems rarely visited. It does provide an alternative to Rabbit Pass for a route from the Wilkin valley to the East Matukituki.
