Ascending Whitehorn Snowfield
Only old icy snow on the field in summer. Ice axe recommended for this part, but if confident on ice then probably not necessary in these conditions. Certainly will need axe and even crampons if travelling outside of summer.

Cronin Icefall
Seen from Whitehorn Pass, the spectacular icefall coming off the Cronin Glacier. Whitehorn Pass is the highest point on the Three Passes trip.

Climbing Browning Pass
Ascending the zig-zag tracked part of Browning Pass. It's a steep scramble up the scree at the top, probably better going on the poled route along the edge of the scree. View of the Wilberforce River in the background.

West Coast Streams
En-route from Harman Hut to Grassy Flat Hut. Be mindful that during heavy rain in the New Zealand bush, small streams will rise rapidly and present some challenges for crossings as there are seldom any bridges for these tributaries.
