Wow, intense! Ive just snapped back into my little world after being entranced in your writing. Felt like I was there watching every minute of it in 3D.
Thought of making a movie yet?
No you have to be good looking for a role in movies he will just have to content himself with walking the dog. Look forward to part three and the days of contemplation. Did the EPIRB figure in your thoughts much? Enjoying the posting Thanks.
Great story. I can't wait for the next instalment. I hope that your injuries are on the mend.
K.
People don't play themselves in movies so I doubt that will matter much. If there's enough financial backing and it it were picked up overseas, he'd likely be played by Brad Pitt, Al Pacino, Danny DeVito or possibly Angelina Jolie if the concept wasn't deemed marketable enough to the free-spending younger male generation. Plus the eventual script would naturally include lots of aeroplanes, machine guns and scantly clad love interests. Most likely the re-make 20 years later will throw in a few aliens with giant eyeballs and slimy tentacles.
For now at least, I'll content myself with reading the first draft. So far it's fascinating.
I have just got few collegues here at work to look at madpom's pic http://www.odt.co.nz/your-town/middlemarch/49939/briggs-and-little-dog-039eyed-each-other-up039 and have decided that it has to be Brad Pitt to play madpom. http://www.hollywoodcollectibles.com/autographed/memorabilia/sports/collectibles/authentic/Celebrity/8x10%20Photos/Brad_Pitt_Photo1_MID.jpg
We havn't figured out who to play the dog yet. Might have to leave that one up to madpom to decide.
Lassie's nature is probably a bit wousy .... The Littlest Hobo? He was a bit of a nomad adventurer for a dog?
I kind of picture Snowey from the Tintin comics. Maybe could do a deal with Jackson and Speilberg to use the same dog that they use in the Tintin movies. Two for the price of 1 so to speak.
I am thinking it would need to be an English actor, so that rules out Brad, so maybe Ewan McGregor. Ok, so he Scottish, but close enough. And he looks like someone tough enough to salt his own cuts, I don't think brad does.

speaking of aliens and giant eyeballs .... bush lawyer would come alive like Day of the Triffids!
Well it wouldn't be the first time that US film-makers took credit for British achievements. Probably among others -- http://tinyurl.com/5skegr
I reckon in the rewrite, it'll be set in the wild and dangerous underground slums of futuristic down-town LA:
"If only I had my emergency evacuation alarm!"
