Sorry, Chuzz, I disagree. I did see the original post and it was in the wrong forum. If it was a legitimate post, it should have been in the Products and Services forum (eg recent Hilleberg tent thread).
Thus, being in wrong forum, flagging was appropriate IMO. I decided to leave it as it wasn’t offensive (but that’s just me). Certainly no point in responding to the poster unless there was a vague possibility that the post was genuine (and in this case that was clearly not the case).

if it's in the wrong forum then it should be treated as spam, whoever it is isnt intersted in making sure they follow the site rules , all they care about is pasting their ad in as many forums as fast as possible.... they dont really give a stuff, so we shouldnt give a stuff about their posts

I agree that we have far too much time yes! - but i still don't see how a post titled 'Trekking in Nepal Himalaya' is off topic within the 'General Discussion' forum which states that it is for 'anything you want to talk about', even if it was a product/service.
I understand that this site is called 'NZ tramper' but perhaps some 'NZ trampers' have an interest in trekking the Himalaya.
And to the people that don't have an interest in this... again I ask: what's the big deal? why make a fuss? Maybe it's easier for me to ignore things i'm not interested in than others, or maybe trampers are just funny. lol.
I can see that nothing anyone says is going to alter your opinion.........so why continue this thread........why not just ignore it...?

When I want to know what's happening in Nepal or Tibet or other places that have big mountains then I go to sites that cater for them......when I want to know about NZ and what is happening there.......I come here.....seems simple to me.
And I'm not against people peddling their services either.......just spam.....can't stand it, nor would I like to see this site being targeted by it and nobody doing anything about it......that's all........!
