Lake Sumner roadend (swingbridge): 11km (3.5 - 6 hrs). Good valley-floor track

No. 3 Hut: 4km (1-1.5 hrs) - valley floor track with marked bush sections. Side-creeks are bridged

Harper Pass Biv: 6km (2-4 hrs) - cut / benched sidle track though bush with some small slips, and some small creek crossings.

No. 4 Hut: 16km (5-9 hrs) - cut / benched track over Harper Pass, valley-floor route down Taramakau beyond swingbridge.
