This pic shows a couple of the tarns near the biv. The biv, an ex NZFS one, is in a nice spot & tops travel access to it is relatively easy in good conditions. We visited by the Rough Creek route, exited by the Lewis tops & biked the highway piece in between.

Volunteers rebuilt this biv a bit under a decade ago after DOC had let it become derelict. Well done to those involved with the rennovations! I read that the materials & tools were carried in not flown in too.
