Poulter Bivvy

Arthur's Pass National Park

A new 2 bunk D.O.C. bivvy located in the headwaters of the Poulter River. It has two sleeping platforms with mattresses arranged in an L-Shape and a small cooking bench. It’s a well insulated little bivvy and has standing room, unlike many of the older style bivs. From the door, there are expansive views down valley. There’s also a shiny new loo.

Getting there
Getting there
From Poulter Hut, cross Minchin stream and the Poulter River respectively and travel upstream along the riverflats. From Worsley Biv, the river narrows and eventually heads into a gorge. If the river is up, there's a bypass route on the true left, starting opp. Enchanted Stream. The gorge eventually opens up 2km down from the biv which is first seen in this valley after a large shingle fan on the true right.

There are more challenging routes from Koropuku & Townsend Huts and Rover Saddle.
